What are the main components and production process of pet thermal release film?

As a high-performance film material, pet thermal release film has a wide range of applications in packaging, printing, electronics, insulation products and other fields. Its main components and unique production process together determine its excellent physical and chemical properties.

PET, or polyethylene terephthalate, is the main component of pet thermal release film. This is a thermoplastic polyester with excellent mechanical properties, heat resistance, chemical resistance and electrical insulation. PET material can be made into films with different thicknesses, transparency and surface properties after specific processing.

When producing pet thermal release film, the PET particles need to be melt-extruded first. This process is usually carried out at high temperatures to ensure that the PET particles can be completely melted and flow evenly. The molten PET is extruded through a precision die to form a continuous film. During the extrusion process, the thickness, width and flatness of the film can be precisely controlled by adjusting the extrusion speed, temperature and die design.

The extruded PET film needs to be oriented and stretched. This step helps to improve the mechanical strength and dimensional stability of the film. During the stretching process, the film is subjected to uniform tensile force in the longitudinal and transverse directions, so that its molecular chains are arranged along the stretching direction, thereby enhancing the tensile strength and tear strength of the film.

Next is the coating of the release layer. The release layer is a key part of the pet thermal release film, which determines the release performance of the film. Usually, the release layer is composed of silicone oil or other special release agents, which are evenly coated on the surface of the PET film through precision coating equipment. The coated film needs to be dried or cured to ensure that the release layer is tightly combined with the PET substrate and form a stable release surface.

Finally, after inspection and cutting, the pet thermal release film is wound into a roll for easy storage and transportation. During the inspection process, the key indicators of the film, such as thickness, width, release force, and transparency, will be strictly tested to ensure that the product quality meets customer requirements.

In summary, the main component of pet thermal release film is polyethylene terephthalate (PET), and its production process includes key steps such as melt extrusion, directional stretching, release layer coating, and drying and curing. These processes together determine the excellent performance and wide application of pet thermal release film.
